Equity in Person-Centered Sterilization Care: Evidence, Challenges, and Best Practices

Join us to explore strategies for providing informed, compassionate, and patient-centered counseling for individuals considering sterilization. Dr. Kelly Treder, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Boston University School of Medicine, and Dr. E. Bimla Schwarz, Professor of Medicine at UCSF and Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital, will discuss how to support autonomy and informed decision-making within the context of clinical, ethical, and policy considerations. Participants will gain insight into current evidence, communication approaches, and practice pathways that promote equitable access to sterilization and alternative contraceptive options.
