Ableism, Fatphobia, and Hidden Eugenics in Reproductive Care

Ableism, Fatphobia, and Hidden Eugenics in Reproductive Care

In this interactive workshop, we will examine how ableism and fatphobia shape reproductive experiences and access to care, often reinforcing eugenic narratives under the guise of health and safety. Beyond mere examination, participants will unpack real-world scenarios, engage in guided reflection, and practice challenging common forms of subtle or “normalized” coercion. By the end of the session, participants will leave with strategies for interrupting implicit bias, advocating for systemic change, and fostering environments where disabled, fat, and otherwise systemically harmed people can access care without coercion.
